I think we can say that accelerated hair loss has stopped

Hair looks healthier too. Not to say it's growing back, or anything, but the hair line has probably stabilized until i go off the nutrition deep end again. 'Cause i don't think stress levels have changed one way or another, though i guess there's no reason for my body to respond to stuff objectively.

Walked with 20 people from the Natick common vigil and area peace groups to mark and protest the 7th year of war on Iraq

As tweeted: on equinox, marking 7 years of war on Iraq, walked with 20 people to remind town we're occupying a couple countries and ruining lives.

From the common where the vigil always is to the army labs. No blockade, no action. Police facilitating our crossing at intersections.

And media representation - somehow i ended up talking to the press about PWGD and Visions Unite!

Well, here's an e-mail i just wrote on the topic:

Walked in a commemoration and protest of seven years of war on Iraq, from

Nice dinner party

Called via Facebook only as soon as Manda and Rich confirmed... at around 4 pm. Fox came, then Scott showed up, then Chris (test of the Facebook Responsiveness System). Sharing the kitchen with Andrew i was even slower in getting started than usual, but he made roasted vegetable kebabs while Manda did the steaks he marinated and I made a vegan quesadilla recipe, but with my own beans instead of refried, and little corn tortillas instead of flour ones. (Pinto beans, which i spiced with peppers and salts and masalas; arugula; tomato; and avocado.

Hanging with Andrew: St. Patrick's day in Boston; salad and lentil leftover special at home

For Saint Patrick's day, and to celebrate the book deal becoming official:

Went down Route 9 and found a parking space just off Stuart? street (or the one after it) in the theater district.

A beer at Jacob and something's and then i remembered i had to get my developer talk in for DrupalCon San Francisco and i went back to the car to do that.

Andrew hit some other places, found me back at the car (cell phone had gone silent mode somehow) and after i finally posted, we went off again, to find every place shutting down at half past 11!

Confused For Elise for Pachabel's Canyon today

May i forever live in shame.

Contact with H, M has a movie set in the way of walk to lunch in Chicago, other text-based plans that came through and did not, including invites for the dinner party Andrew and i put on here Friday the 19th.

Andrew cooked me egg substitute

Nutritional yeast and soy milk (mixed), olive oil, oatmeal, brown sugar. Touch of salt and black pepper.

Saturday shift

Mom and Grandpa off on a trip. I get Rusty.

Walked the dogs to the post office and the bank--- Middlesex Savings Bank said they are dog friendly and to bring them inside next time! Called friends on the way back, got through to A.

Got some work done in and around that.

What it's like to be me: 30 minutes of a morning

Get a client e-mail about a Drupal node clone bug and a basic question about where to look up registration data of people submitting forms on the web site (we'd made them with ubercart free order, so admin/store/ etc.), look for errors about this in the dblog, note again all the hits the site is getting for images that are no longer in that location from stupid people on forums who hotlinked them on the old site, realize this time that stopping these many hits to the Drupal 404 not found page, which even worse is redirected to a node in their setup, is making boost create a cache for each one,

Talking day

[2010 February 18, Thursday]

Good phone conversations (walk Zelda to the post office and back) and dinner with Vafa and Andrew.

I keep bringing up the disturbing question for me of how people i know, people from good families, can be joining the Facebook group "People on welfare should have mandatory drug tests"

After three decades of welfare retrenchment.
After six decades of a failed alleged war on drugs.
In the middle of a recession that should be reminding most of us that we could become poor quite easily also.

The outdoors is incredibly beautiful

Day off-ish

Worked at a client's in Cambridge until 11 p.m. Friday, and just barely made the last train out of Boston by running like hell on both sides of the subway.

Felt the need to go or a run for real and tried to map out a 15K, the interesting route came more to 18K, ran about the 15 kilometers from 1:45 to 3pm, then decided to use the parkour course behind the hospital to go to town.

New England rivers in winter are beautiful

Driving back from Manchester yesterday morning, New England is so beautiful in the winter. In particular the rivers. Those flowing over rocks too quickly to ice over, and those covered with ice. We have it all ;-)

to the NH Drupal meetup

Fantastic dinner Manda made Rich
3 pounds of beef, 1 pound of bacon, some carrots, olives, and half a bottle of wine.

still

Hair still falling out. I've always had a thing for pulling out shedding fur, so at least i'm enjoying it while it goes.

grr

Natick police officer Vitale, a very sad man.

Maybe he had no choice but to give a citation for my grandfather's expired license, even though he knows the state just stopped sending notices to people so everyone is getting caught with this, and even though he knows my grandfather lives in Cape Cod and that he will have to travel to Framingham to deal with. Without a license, yeah.

Productivity fail

I have tons to do. How did i spend three and a half hours this morning, from 5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., reading the last year and a quarter of Candorville?

I've been rocking the work the past week or so. Maybe i should have really fully taken Saturday off like i planned. Because productivity this Sunday wasn't supposed to be an option.

Sledding this morning was good though!

Also read an essay on the women's liberation movement by Jo Freeman,
http://flag.blackened.net/revolt/hist_texts/structurelessness.html

It feels very strange for me to not be stealing Christmas trees with my mother at this time of year.

(she taught preschool and always got a bunch of trees for a forest unit in January)

Went sledding for the second time in the not-yet-two-day-old new year!
