Listening to Bob Dylan's Biograph

Turns out i could listen to Dylan forever.

Also, loving that i have so many people in my life to love.

Chris Hellman of the National Priorities Project speaking about military spending and budget crisis at Natick Morse library

Sponsored by Pax Christi - seeking the peace of Christ.

People collecting signatures for Grace Ross to run for governor- on the Democratic ticket, so primary i assume,

A couple handouts: the president's budget, where do your tax dollars go, and the Massachusetts, Natick, and Framingham [breakdown of war costs].

If elected officials don't hear from you, they assume you don't care. Which means they can do whatever they want.

Learn.
Write.
Hold accountable.
Organize.

Barnie Frank: "You have to stop us."

Stefan ate the last three packages of ramen noodles

Just to get them out of the way of his re-organized cabinets. That's dedication.

Our home is being converted to German efficiency.

Last day on the California Zephyr: to Chicago

Mama's Boy, i guess Arjuna and Stefan, and possibly myself, were all identified as such by the Cuban woman

So glad he refused to take the 20 from her. (Especially since he had offered me a 20 to use the computer which i turned down.) And then it turns out, as he asks about web development, that he has Visions Unite / PWGD style plans!

feeling good

In the form of a status update...

feels great. The one i love is speaking civilly to me again. The one i'm flirting with seems to be enjoying it. And wine has washed away all memories of work responsibilities.

Unconference day at DrupalCon

Dinner for ten people in San Francisco for what i've spent on a date for two in New York City? Priceless. Agaric can pick that up with pleasure!

Fri: Gave a Drupal talk, had an excellent early evening out, and ate a pretzel from the best sandwich stand in the state

Went to The Franklin Café with C and J - first time seeing her in a very long time - and had a pretty good meal off their mimeographed, provided-by-request vegetarian menu and good conversation, though i think i talked too much. Resolved to do meet again, if we don't all take a trip to Chicago together or something.

Following a Drupal talk i had a lot of fun giving to a small group at Mass General Hospital, i stayed in South Station out of the rain. (Before the talk, i stayed a bit at Encuentro 5.)

i should have been asleep a while ago

i have got to be able to focus and work and get a lot done. Like start writing 15 pages a day. I think i need to focus another kind of my attention, too.

I love you so much.

More than one person might read this and might just might think it could be them. And more than one person would be right. Tonight, however, to one particular woman's empathy, strength, intelligence, and kindness.

Buying food

Saved $40 on a $200 grocery bill. With $33 of meat. Do i have to bill Andrew and Stefan for it to remain a vegan shopper?

Chipped tooth more chipped?

It feels different. It had felt like it sort of sealed itself over before.

Google didn't have much for "if my tooth is falling apart, does it mean i have a cavity?"

Did have this
http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/forum/archive/index.php?t-1309.html

but i think i'll just get to Manda's awesome dentist if i need to.

It's a small tooth crowded up front if the whole thing does fall to pieces the others will probably just fill the space.

Take better care of teeth. Take better care of teeth.

Maintenance work, nice Pegan Cove walk, short call from K

Full sun, very warm in the sun, very slight breeze, very beautiful evergreens with for the most part (except for the lilacs budding in our yard) no green on any other trees.

Doing the background Agaric work we need to do to launch the new site and ditch our old servers.

To Jamaica Plain for a Race and Equality in Latin America

Went into Boston with Stefan today. MBTA commuter rail faretakers accepted my expired 12-ride commuter rail pass (after six months!?) without comment. I may consign them collectively to a lesser layer of hell.

Watched City of Angels and Romeo + Juliet, worked through some bugs in my Ubercart modules

Both good movies, but sad... probably would have cried if not distracted just enough by the code i was working on. :-P

And probably would have cried over the code without the distraction of the movies.

Preceded by dinner, also with R + M, at a pretty good and affordable Mexican restaurant, that was wonderfully flexible with making black bean enchiladas with avocado and vegetables instead of cheese and cream. Somewhat small serving size made up for by the unlimited tortilla chips and hot salsa.

That's all last night.

Left cape a day or so behind schedule, great time with Grandpa, some productivity

phone has a habit of cutting out now, dead battery, with no warning first.

Guess that's better than the interrupting with the silly beep.

Finally left the Cape, very good days with Grandpa, we went back to D'Italia's for one of the last nights under the original ownership and a large vegan pizza which i polished off by myself, apparently anyone eating an entire pizza was a previously unrecorded feat. I should stop that. Grandpa had specially prepared steak tata (raw).

Big day for friends. Still at the Cape.

For Manda.
For Andrew- coming back from New York after a great time with everyone... and claiming his guitar.
Oh, and for all of us on the book-- a real live contract for signing!

At the cape, talking with Grandpa about work and love

I don't think people quite believe me when i say i have some level of relationship autism. I just fail to recognize relationships between people - power, love - none of the subtler cues, whatever they are, do i catch. I have been fortunate enough to see a few good relationships up close, at a level of intimacy

Example of the moment, Grandpa took me to a little restaurant he likes, we talked with the owners quite a bit.

Afterwards he cannot believe that i had no idea they are gay. And a couple.

Got to catch up with a couple friends on phone and skype; more good food by Andrew courtesy

Finally heard from D today!

My bowl of 5-alarm salsa fell off the overcrowded kitchen table while i was out throwing the compost into the compost pile. I pulled what i could off the top of the dirty floor and broken glass, and ate it.

I really hate to waste food.

Only had to spit out one mouthful when i felt a suspicious crunch.

Talked to M on Skype.

Watched Wizard of Oz for the first time... awesome

Andrew made me.

Auntie Em Gale: Almira Gulch, just because you own half the county doesn't mean that you have the power to run the rest of us. For twenty-three years, I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!

Dorothy: Weren't you frightened?
Wizard of Oz: Frightened? Child, you're talking to a man who's laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom, and chuckled at catastrophe... I was petrified.
